Wix is a name that has been around for some time in the world of website builders. It first came out in 2005 and over the                                                                 years, it has become quite popular for its Flash solutions and generally great-looking websites that were made possible                                                                 with this builder. However, the Wix that we are reviewing today and the Wix that you can use today is much different,                                                                     mostly because it switched to the HTML5 build and mostly because it was totally reworked to better suit the needs of a                                                                 modern web designer and average user. We have been using it for a few weeks now and we think that we can finally give                                                                 our review of this incredible website builder.



                                                            The first thing that you see and feel when you check their main web page is that everything has been streamlined and                                                            made even more user-friendly than before. It is obvious that they are aiming at the average user who has very limited or even                                                                     non-existent coding and web design skills. It was never a website builder aimed at the professionals and this new Wix is not either. Its primary market are the Average Jane and Joe and it is necessary to view it in this light, which is exactly what we are going to do.



When you start creating your website, you need to register and decide whether you are going to give it a go for free or go for one of the premium plans. It is our advice to first try Wix out for free and then decide whether you will want to upgrade. If you were hoping to create a website for free and put it online, we are afraid that this is not possible and that you will need a premium plan of some kind (there are 4 different plans), but as far as trying out goes, everything is available to free users when it comes to designing your website.



There are two ways in which you can start your website creation and the first of these is to choose one of the pre-made templates. There are hundreds of them to choose from and they all share a look and the feel which are much more professional and appealing than we dared to dream when we started working with Wix. Most of these templates look like something you would get from huge web design firms that you would have to pay thousands of dollars to in order to get anything like this. You can start from a blank canvas, but for most users, there is a template that will perfectly do the job. One word of warning however, you need to remember that once the template is chosen, you cannot switch to another one and you will once again have to start from scratch. This is why it is best to try out a few of them before you choose the final one.



From there on, it gets even easier as you will be using the drag and drop interface that has finally been done properly. You can drag and drop all of the elements, such as pictures, text blocks and so on. The great thing is that the interface is intuitive enough so as to realize

where overlapping might occur and it avoids this by making slight adjustments automatically, avoiding this from

occurring. You will not need to write a line of code in order to work in Wix and we are sure many of you will find

this to be the biggest plus of Wix.

Wix. Its name tells you the biggest part of the story. That is where you can find and get yourself numerous

additional applications and tools that you can then include on your website. There are various different tools and

applications, from marketing tools to social widgets, shopping carts, online reservation tools and so on. It can go

a long way towards making your website even better and more diversified.

In essence, we just loved Wix and we think that it is a solution that is at this moment he best option for all average web users who want to have a beautiful website that looks and works better than it should for that little money.
